The issue I chose for my social art project was the issue of pollution. I wouldn't say I'm passionate about it, but I care strongly for the protection of our earth's ecosystem consisting of all the animals and plant life that resides within it. This might also have to do with my liking towards animals and pollution harms much animal life. I also dislike seeing our earth be damaged with litter everywhere–it's disgusting. I think art is helpful in getting my point across because it helps me articulate my opinions through visualizations which can be a lot easier than saying it through words. Sometimes words can also be difficult to understand.

My favorite project this semester was the project where we first tried out illustrator and had to create an animal through the pen tool. I liked it because I've never used illustrator before and it was a nice experience. I also was really proud of my finished piece since I've never used illustrator and I thought it was pretty good for my first try! I got to learn a lot out of making that art piece.
The hardest part of creating my Justin Maller animal piece was having to use the pen tool and drawing all of the shapes which were part of my animal. It was difficult because the pen tool doesn't work as you think it would like on other art programs and that's what made it very confusing. It was also hard deciding what colors/gradients I should use for my bird so I could make all the colors fit together.
I don't think all photos tell the truth, but some definitely do! I think this because some photos could be altered to look a lot more different than the original image using editing and effects to make it look better. For some photos which tell the truth, they could've just been edited by adding a small alteration to the color and yet it would still be a truthful picture. Although if one were to ask me if a picture was telling the truth or not, it would be very difficult to answer the question unless I knew if the image had an original and if I was there when the photo was taken. I definitely do know that many magazines contain images of people that look like really professional models but was altered on photoshop to get to that level of beauty. Bottom line is that it's really hard to know if a photo is the real thing and not something photoshopped with some weird alteration (like adding something to the image or taking away something) but a color alteration would still be a truthful photo because nothing in the image was altered besides the color.
I can't really say that I learned anything new recently since I knew most of the stuff we've learned so far beforehand, but I do think I am getting better at utilizing the techniques! I also think I'm getting better at recognizing the shortcuts for certain commands in photoshop. Such commands include the ctrl+t which is to transform the current selected object and shift+command+4 which is to screenshot! Learning all of this has enhanced my computer experience on a Mac (since I use a PC at home) by making it a faster process for me.
Website building is important in a variety of ways. Website building can teach you the many components there is towards building a website and therefore leads you towards having a nice, presentable website for a business or for your own personal use. Website building can also serve as your own digital journal to store your personal thoughts into an archive if you're making a blog. This also builds up to the fact that if you make a website, you can put anything you desire on that website! Such examples include your art (for artsy business), animations/videos, your daily status (blogging, already mentioned), and many other things! Basically, if you're able to build a website, you also may be able to create something as amazing as a social media website! This could earn you the big bucks, possibly.
Learning digital art is important in a variety of ways. First of all, it's important because shows you that there are a numerous amount of things that you can create through the digital world of art through a program, like Photoshop. Another reason why it's significant is because learning it helps you realize that you can create something very unique and amazing through very simple tools that are utilized through the art program. Building up to that statement, it also shows you how you too can create a piece that matches that of a professional digital artist (photo editing wise, not drawing) if you come to understand how to use all the tools that are found on the program in a creative way! Lastly, learning digital art is important because it is very widely used in the art industry for things such as photography, graphic design, and animation! So if you were to excel in Photoshop, you could possibly do a good job in those fields if you try hard enough!
Digital art is any form of art that is created, but digitally! Some examples of digital art include a photo collage, an editing of a photo, or an art piece that was uploaded to the computer to finish drawing it. Basically, digital art is just like regular art, but it's called digitally for a reason. Digitally = Virtual through some sort of device such as a computer or tablet.
Digital art is also different from the art where you use supplies such as actual brushes because you use the technology that a computer utilizes that uses virtual tools to create art! |
